4. Exam

Review by certified experts: Our authorized tax advisors or auditors carefully review your information and prepare the legally required audit report and audit confirmation.

5. Delivery of Documents

Delivery of Documents: You will receive the audited documents, provided with a qualified electronic signature (QES), encrypted by email.

What documents are required?

To verify your quantity report, the following documents are usually required:

  • Product overview: A list of the single-use plastic products you have placed on the market during the relevant period.
  • Quantity data: Proof of the quantities of the respective products, for example, through sales statistics or production reports.
  • Invoice documents: Copies of invoices or delivery notes that prove the quantities placed on the market.
  • Further evidence: Depending on the individual situation, additional documents may be required, such as contracts with waste disposal companies or certificates of recycling measures.

Deadlines and Legal Requirements

According to the Single-Use Plastics Fund Act (EWKFondsG), manufacturers are obliged to submit their quantity reports annually by May 15th of the following year. For the year 2024, the deadline has been exceptionally extended to June 15th, 2025. Please note that this extension is an exception and the regular deadline will apply again in future years.

It is important to meet the deadlines, as late or incomplete reports can lead to sanctions. In addition, the Federal Environment Agency reserves the right to request an audit even for quantities below the audit threshold of 100 kg.
